ABOUT JACQUELINE

From a young age Jacqueline found a passion for music in her local church choir. With Ruth Holton she achieved the Associated Board of the Royal Schools Grade 8 singing exam, passing with distinction. She studied her ABRSM piano grades with Niromi Fernando.

Over the years Jacqueline has been a part of many choirs such as St Francis of Assisi, West Wickham with Travis Baker and Geoff Mussard, St George’s Church Beckenham with Nigel Groome and Marcus Wibberley, All Saints Church West

Dulwich with Ruth Holton and Inner Voices Choir with Edward Watkins and Ralph Allwood. Jacqueline also attended Eton Choral Courses ran and directed by Ralph Allwood. Being part of so many choirs has given Jacqueline the opportunity to sing at venues such as Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral, Southwark Cathedral, Chichester Cathedral, Ely Cathedral, King’s College Chapel Cambridge, St Martin’s in the Field and many more whilst also being

able to tour in Prague and be broadcasted on Classic FM.

As well as music, Jacqueline has achieved her Grade 8 RAD ballet exam and attended Stagecoach for 9 years.

Jacqueline currently studies in Greenwich at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Here, Jacqueline is in her fourth and final year of studying under Linda Hirst and receives vocal coaching under Alistair Young. At Trinity Jacqueline is part of the Undergraduate Choir, which holds an annual performance at Blackheath Halls.

Jacqueline had her debut recital in June 2019 ‘Music for a While’ at All Saints Church West Dulwich, followed by another concert in October, 'Music of the Night' which raised over £1,000 for a new audio and visual system at her local

church, St Mary of Nazareth. During 2019 Jacqueline also performed at a private inauguration and the ‘Last Night of the Proms’ charity event by the Salvation Army, Croydon.

In February 2020 Jacqueline performed her first duet recital with Francesca Lauri a fellow pianist at Trinity in Beckenham, which was a raving success. Due to the pandemic the rest of Jacqueline's concerts for 2020 were cancelled. But this didn’t stop Jacqueline. She performed her first virtual live concert in May 2020 and raised £800 for NHS Charities Together!

Since returning to the norm of life, Jacqueline has performed as a soloist alongside the London Concert Chorus in October 2021. Then Sutton Baptist Church asked Jacqueline to be the headline singer at the Churches’ first

Christmas Concert in December, along with an annual performance at the Christian Aid Big Sing at St Francis of Assisi, West Wickham.

Kicking off 2022, Jacqueline got into the semi-finals of the Soloist’s Competition at Trinity and came first in her class at the Croydon Performing Arts Music Festival, where she was also asked to perform at their annual Gala at Fairfield Halls in June.

As part of a university project Jacqueline set up a small Opera Company ‘Turner and Thwaites Opera’ with co-founder Antonia Thwaites. They successfully organised, directed, and performed in abridged versions on Mozart’s ‘Le nozze de Figaro’ and Handel’s ‘Semele’ at the National Liberal Club in London, which was a sell-out success! A lot of hard work and determination went into organising two separate casts, arranging the music themselves, marketing, casting, and directing. So, they are extremely proud of this successful achievement! Jacqueline played the lead role of Semele which she thoroughly enjoyed and looks forward to performing in other Operas in the future.

In July Jacqueline played the role of Young Barbara in the world premiere of STROZZI! As part of the Trinity Laban Opera at Blackheath Halls. She was also asked to perform at the Musique Cordiale festival in Faversham with Tenor Aidan Coburn. The Salvation Army Croydon Citadel have invited Jacqueline back in October to be the Soprano for their ‘Last Night of the Proms’.

As well as all this, over the last six years Jacqueline has given one-to-one singing, music theory and beginner piano lessons, including in-person and virtually.

Jacqueline finally graduated from Trinity Laban in December 2022 with a BA (Hons) in Classical Performance. She's extremely grateful to all her tutors, family and friends who supported her through this journey as she wouldn't have been able to do it without them!

There's a lot of new exciting musical ventures in 2023 which Jacqueline will announce in due course.
